My paintings are colored in black and gold. [black → the darkness of this world, gold → the radiance of femininity] I paint with the theme of yin and yang coexisting and shining in one's own way. My experiences of being drawn to stars and the universe are incorporated into the motifs, and I express the way of being and living as a woman. As I am an African woman, I have created strong expressions that evoke that aspect of myself. In addition, I use traditional Japanese materials [washi paper, ink, and gold paint] to express my inner self. I believe that those who pick up my paintings, who find them inspiring or comforting, will become even more than that and [shine].
